Can the Minister please advise -
(1) As the State Government’s Coastal Planning Policy 2.6 calls for a setback of 100m from the Horizontal Setback Datum (HSD), does the proposed development meet this requirement?
(a) If not, why not?
(b) If the requirement has not been met, who made that decision?
(2) Given that the proposed building footprint is not contained within the existing bituminised area at Mt Herschel, is approval required from the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) or other agency to allow clearing of native vegetation on this site on this “A” Class Reserve?
(3) Is the Minister aware that the Rottnest Island Authority now sources 70-80% of its potable water from desalination operations?
(4) Should an up-to-date independent review be sought of the advisability of decommissioning, rather than repairing, the water catchment area before it is totally lost?
