KARRATHA SENIORS VILLAGE
With reference to the proposed relocation of the Karratha seniors village as part of the Pilbara Cities plan — (1) Have the residents of the Karratha seniors village been issued with eviction notices? (2) If yes to (1), what was the reason for their eviction? (3) If yes to (1), what assistance has been offered to rehouse the residents? (4) Have the residents of the Karratha seniors village opposed the move to have them evicted? (5) If yes to (4), what are their reasons for doing so? (4) The Karratha City of the North plan, which has been endorsed by the Western Australian Planning Commission, forecasts the relocation of the senior citizens village to facilitate the transformation of the Karratha central business district. Ongoing consultation is being undertaken with the seniors regarding alternatives for short and long-term options for seniors accommodation within Karratha. No decisions have yet been made regarding this matter. (5)-(6) Not applicable.
