I refer to the Department for Environment and Conservation (DEC), and I ask —
(1) How many former pastoral properties were purchased by DEC for conservation in —
(a) 2008-09;
(b) 2009-10;
(c) 2010-11; and
(d) 2011-12? (Please provide a list showing the names, locations, sizes and purchase price of each property).
(2) What purchases are planned for —
(a) 2012-13;
(b) 2013-14; and
(c) 2014-15?
(3) What is the total number of former pastoral properties now managed by DEC for conservation? Please provide a list showing the name and location and date of purchase.

(1a) Two - Lakeside in the Murchison region, 51 528 hectares, $320 000; and Dirk Hartog in the Gascoyne region, 61 641 hectares, $453 862.
(b-c) Nil
(d) One portion of Doorawarrah in the Gascoyne region, 15 134 hectares, $37 500.
(2a-c) None. However, any offers to sell leases will be considered on their merits.
(3) 61 part or whole former pastoral leases. [see tabled paper no], which does not include former pastoral leases that have been reserved as national parks, conservation parks or nature reserves.
