(1)-(2) CALM was initially consulted on the planning stages of this project during June and July 2004 and again in March 2005. CALM understands that the plans are still going through a finalisation process. CALM expects to be consulted further during this process. (3) The plans for lighting are yet to be finalised, and it is expected that further negotiations between the Pilbara Development Commission, the Town of Port Hedland and CALM will occur prior to finalising the plans. (4)-(5) The Environmental Protection Authority determines whether to assess a proposal that has been referred to it, and at what level, when it considers it has been provided with enough information about the project. The EPA has advised the Minister for the Environment that the proponent is finalising a design proposal. The EPA will consider the final proposal and determine whether it is to be assessed and, if so, at what level.
