I thank the honourable member for some notice of this question. (1)-(3) The key technician assigned to this project resigned in June 2005. Since that time the Rehabilitation Engineering Clinic has undertaken to fill the position on two occasions without success due to a lack of suitably qualified and skilled personnel. The severe skills shortage in this area hampers the ability to attract suitable personnel. Presently the REC is in discussion with a prospective applicant to fill the position on a contract basis. There is an appointment with the REC on 2 June 2006 to test the toileting system. If the test is successful, the system will be installed.
