(1) Yes. The Department of Environment (DoE) has reviewed the recommendations of Australian and international studies into the advantages and disadvantages of container deposit legislation (CDL). A report was prepared for the Waste Management Board. (2) The report could be made available on request to the Waste Management Board. (3) Not applicable. (4) Western Australia is constrained in implementing CDL in this State by the National Competition Policy. Any such measure would need to be implemented at a National level. It should be noted that South Australian legislation predates the National Competition Policy. (5) Not applicable. (6) See answer to (4).
