The Minister Replied:
(a) The government does have a joint departmental process with Treasury, the Ministry for Planning, the Department of Transport, Contract and Management Services, Crown Solicitor's Office, Ministry of Sport and Recreation, Ministry for Culture and the Arts and the WATC on the Taskforce and Project Team. Landcorp was not invited to sit on the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre Taskforce because it is not within the key business outcomes in Landcorp's Operational Plan. The agency's key business outcomes are developing strategically located industrial and urban land to meet the needs of industry, and maximising the social and financial returns to the State from surplus government land assets.
(b) No.
(c) The Chief Executive Officer of the Ministry for Planning has been a member of the Taskforce since its inception. The Ministry for Planning and the Western Australian Planning Commission will have an ongoing role in ensuring the normal development approval processes are observed.
(d) None.
