I refer to the number of nurses in the public health system and I ask: (a) Across all Western Australian Public hospitals, how many Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) Registered Nurses were employed, by hospital, for each year since 2015; (b) Across all Western Australian Public hospitals, how many FTE Enrolled Nurses were employed, by hospital, for each year since 2015; and (c) Across all Western Australian Public hospitals, how many FTE Enrolled Nurses and Registered Nurses, by hospital, are currently employed.?

The period of FTE data included in responses has been limited to July 2017 to April 2023. In the process of establishing Health Service Providers following the implementation of the Health Services Act 2016 (WA) , significant cost centre adjustments were made which would distort allocations of FTE to hospital sites via cost centres. These changes were predominantly settled by 2017-18 and accordingly, to reduce inaccuracy in allocating FTE to hospital sites, the query response is limited to July 2017 to April 2023.
