The Mental Health Commission and the WA Country Health Service (WACHS) have agreed to the development of a regional youth community treatment service in 2015/16 and into the future with funding of $1.8 million per annum set aside. An important component of this service is the development of a dedicated youth service in the South West which will provide support across different settings and will not rely on screening by other mental health programs. It will adopt a no-wrong-door youth-friendly approach, time focused interventions and will integrate clients into supporting programs such as the adult mental health programs and Non-Government Providers based upon identified need.
