DISABILITY
SERVICES — INDIVIDUALISED FUNDING APPLICATIONS
66. Hon SUE ELLERY to the
Minister for Disability Services:
(1) For the
financial year 2014–15 to date, how many people have applied for individualised
funding through the combined application process and other individualised
funding streams?
(2) Of these,
how many received the new package of funding as requested?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the member for some notice of the question.
(1) The
Disability Services Commission receives requests and applications for support
through a range of different mechanisms, including direct requests from local
area coordinators, through disability sector organisations, through the
community aids and equipment program, through the community and family living
initiative, through the Western Australian National Disability Insurance
Scheme, My Way, through the support for school leavers initiative, and through
the combined application process. The estimated number of people who have
applied for individual funding across funding streams totals 3 217. Note that
people may apply for support from more than one funding stream.
(2) There were
2 361. For further information, I table the ''Disability Support Funding
Bulletin: Issue 3: January 2015''.
