(2) Yes. Child Welfare Amendment Act 1990 section 9 – Licence to employ children required in relation to an entertainment, exhibition or advertisement. This section requires employers in the entertainment and advertising industries wishing to employ children under the age of 15 years to obtain authorisation through a licence. Proclamation required the development of regulations on licensing procedures. Development of the regulations was suspended following a review of the Department of Community Development’s legislation and a decision to address the issue of the employment of children in the Department’s new Children and Community Development Bill .
