Information and publications available in a language other than English:
· A Multilingual Guide on how to complete both Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council ballot papers, produced in 25 most commonly used languages in Western Australia (based on ABS data). These guides were made available in every polling place at the 2013 State Election. They are also available for download on the elections website (www.elections.wa.gov.au/sites/default/files/content/documents/Multilingual_guide.pdf).
· General information on `how-to-vote in a State election' is available on the elections website in 25 languages (www.elections.wa.gov.au/vote/assistance/other-languages).
· Local Government elections brochure `Do you need help?' provides information in 11 most commonly used languages. The brochure is included in the postal voting election package that is sent to every registered WA elector.
· Contact information in nine different languages was included on the EasyVote card distributed to every enrolled elector at the 2013 State general election.
· The Commission uses the Commonwealth Translating and Interpreting Service (TIS). Electors are encouraged to call freecall number 13 14 50 and ask to be linked to the Commission on 13 63 06.
· At the 2013 State general election, bi-lingual and multi-lingual polling officers wore stickers that identified the languages that they were able to speak. This initiative will be repeated at the 2017 State general election.
· Web banner advertisements on other language websites eg: Chinese.
· Print ads on non-English language newspapers eg: the Epoch Times in Chinese.
