IRON ORE EXPORTS
749. Hon COLIN de GRUSSA to the Leader of the House
representing the Minister for Ports:
I refer to the announcement on 5 July
2023 by the Southern Ports Authority of a three-year contract for the export of
iron ore through the port of Esperance.
(1) Does the new contract involve a subsidy
arrangement or any relief from the payment of royalties?
(2) What is the estimated annual
throughput under the contract?
(3) If yes to
(1), please specify the arrangements and the estimated quantum of the financial
assistance being provided over the term of the contract?
(4) Under the new arrangements, does the SPA hold
exclusive rights to determine user access to the following —
(a) rail infrastructure;
(b) rail dumping
infrastructure;
(c) conveyor systems;
(d) storage facilities; and
(e) berth 3?
