ROAD TRAUMA TRUST ACCOUNT
1042. Hon MARTIN ALDRIDGE to the Leader of the House
representing the Minister for Road Safety:
I refer to the Auditor General's
report on management of the road trauma trust account and its recommendation
that the Road Safety Council should ''clarify which entities and
projects they consider eligible for funding by the RTTA'' and implement
a systematic approach to its funding recommendations.
(1) Noting that the implementation
timeframe was June 2024, has this recommendation been implemented?
(2) If yes to (1), which entities
and projects are eligible for funding by the RTTA?
(3) What are the ''clearly
defined funding priorities'' of the Road Safety Council?
(4) Has the Road
Safety Council's investment framework draft, which will be used to
better guide the distribution of funds, been completed?
(5) If no to (4), what is the expected
implementation date of the framework?

I thank the
honourable member for some notice of the question.
(1) Road safety
governance and RTTA administration framework documents have been finalised with
implementation of administrative forms currently taking place.
(2) Any entity and all public
sector agencies are eligible to submit proposals seeking RTTA funding.
(3) The Road
Safety Council makes recommendations about road trauma trust account funding,
guided by the priorities of the state government's cabinet-endorsed Driving
change: Road safety strategy .
(4)–(5) The Road Safety Council is currently working with
the WA Treasury Corporation to finalise an investment framework to
inform future funding requests for midyear review.
