I refer to the answer provided to a Question Without Notice asked in the Legislative Council on 28 May 2025, in which the Council was advised of the Government’s election commitment to supply air conditioners to 45 schools, and I ask: (a) As of 1 May 2025, how many public schools, in total, had been identified by the Department of Education as requiring the installation of new air conditioning or upgrades to existing systems?

The Department of Education services evaporative air conditioning twice a year. If an air conditioning system breaks down, schools can report the fault and a contractor will attend and repair the system. If the system has failed and cannot be repaired, the Department will authorise a replacement at unit level.
