I refer to the Margaret River District Hospital extension upgrade. (1) What are the reasons for the delays in construction? (2) What is the projected completion date? (3) Is the project still on the $2.95 million budget or is there a cost overrun? Hon SUE ELLERY

I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question. (1) Building works are well advanced.  However, there has been some delay to the project due to the unavailability of building tradespeople and unseasonal wet weather in the earlier stages of the project.  In addition, some work has been restaged to minimise disruption to the hospital during peak holiday periods. (2) The projected completion date is 14 August 2006. (3) The project remains on target within the $3.398 million allocation, increased in January 2005 from the original budget estimation of $2.95 million based on a revision of costs for the project, including building cost escalations.
