In relation to the impairment of bream fish in Claisebrook Cove, resulting from existing buried contaminants, I ask:
(a) what information regarding similar contamination of fish using the similarly excavated and contaminated site in Elizabeth Quay/the Esplanade has the Minister or his agencies sought or received;
(b) will the Minister table that information;
(c) if not, why not; and
(d) what guarantees will the Minister give regarding the health of fish entering the intended Elizabeth Quay?

(a)    The Elizabeth Quay development area has been subject to extensive site contamination investigations which have identified only localised incidents of soil contamination needing remediation. Those areas have been, or will be, remediated as part of the site works in accordance with the
Contaminated Sites Act (2003).
It is not expected that the water quality in the inlet will be compromised as a result of the development.
(b)   There is no information available specific to this situation.
(c)    See the answer to (b).
(d)   It is expected that the health of fish in the Elizabeth Quay inlet will be similar to that of other fish in the middle reaches of the Swan River.
