I refer to David Volmer’s entry to Banksia Hill Juvenile Detention Centre and I ask: (a) did a member of WA Parliament write or email you, your Office, the Department or Banksia Hill directly in support of Prison Fellowship gaining entry to Banksia Hill; (b) If yes to (a) which Member or Members; (c) on what date was entry to Banksia Hill first officially approved; and (d) who approved Prison Fellowship’s initial entry to Banksia Hill and all subsequent entries?

The Department of Corrective Services advises:
(a) No.
(b) N/A
(c) The initial date that Mr Volmer was approved by the Superintendent to enter Banksia Hill as a visitor was 6 February 2014. Mr Volmer was not involved in program delivery at Banksia Hill.
Prison Fellowship Western Australia commenced providing the Youth Alpha Program at Banksia Hill Detention Centre on 9 September 2014. Mr Volmer did not participate in this program.
