PERTH STADIUM — PUBLIC TRANSPORT PATRONAGE
470. Mr M. McGOWAN to the Minister for
Transport:
I have a supplementary question. Why
was the report upon which the plan is based incorrect, and how far progressed
are the minister's plans for a feeder bus service between the new
publicly funded stadium and Crown Perth?
Several members interjected.
The
SPEAKER : Order, members! Member for Albany! Thank you, Premier.

There has not been one conversation
that I am aware of with my department or myself regarding a feeder service to
the casino. I just imagine that the casino would potentially make an approach
to us. I have not been approached.
Several members interjected.
The
SPEAKER : Members for Forrestfield and Mandurah, I call you to order for the
first time. Member for Albany, will you calm down please.
Mr
D.C. NALDER : I have not been approached for a feeder bus service and there
is no planning. I can only image that it is a natural process for the
businesses and communities that surround that area—I heard that Belmont
Park might be interested in looking at car parking; I have heard lots of
things, but I have not had anyone from Gloucester Park or the Western
Australian Cricket Association specifically come and talk to me—to want
to consider it. We are committed to a multifaceted, fully integrated solution
for this new Perth Stadium and we will make it world class. We are delivering
things on time and ahead of budget, and we will continue to do that.
