(1) For the period 1 March 2014 to 31 May 2014, 290 Responsible Parenting Agreements were entered into.
(2) Of these 290 agreements, 159 originated from another State Government Department:
a. Department for Child Protection and Family Support - 116
b. Department of Education - 66
c. Department of Corrective Services - 55
d. Western Australia Police - 22
e. Department of Health - 13
f. Department for Communities - 1
g. Other Western Australia State Government Department - 2
h. Community sector agencies - 8
i. Member of the public - 4
j. Parent or Guardian - 3
(3) These details are included in individual case notes recorded in the Department for Child Protection and Family Support's client information system, but the Department does not systematically record this information.
However, Responsible Parenting Agreements are used with all families worked with by the Parent Support service to outline problem behaviours, goals, activities and timelines to achieve change. The agreed activities or tasks undertaken by parents vary according to the specific goals and needs of each family.
