(1) I refer to the Minister’s answer to question on notice No. 1805, and ask what does the Minister mean by the statement 'administration group (of employees) includes public service, ministerial and government officers employees'? (2) Does the Minister mean that one or more of the employees identified as attached to a school may be working in a ministerial office or a government office? (3) If yes to (2), and they are not working at the school, why are they listed as an employee of the school?

(1) The Administration group includes Public Service, Ministerial and Government Officer employees. School support staff who work 41 weeks of the year and are called ministerial officers are employed under the Education Department Ministerial Officers Salaries Allowances and Conditions Award 1983. This is inclusive of employees such as school officers, library officers, registrars, business managers and laboratory technicians. The term Ministerial Officers and Government Officers is a category of employment of the Community and Public Sector Union/Civil Service Association of Western Australia.  It does not refer to people working in the Minister's or a Government Office. People who work in Minister's offices are called Ministerial Advisors.
(2) No. All employees reported are working at a school. An employee may have several different jobs at the same school; for example, they may be employed as a ministerial officer (library officer) for one day a week and also be employed as an Education Assistant for a few days a week. They may also be a school officer and a library officer. Any employees who may also work part-time in a government office are not included in this information.
(3) Not applicable.
