I am devastated by what is occurring
to all those small and medium-sized enterprises around the state, whether they
are retailers, restaurants, cafes, cinemas or function centres, or suppliers—whoever
they may be. This is a devastating situation for them. I will continue to raise
at the national cabinet level what further measures both the commonwealth and
the state government can take. Obviously, the Treasurer and the cabinet and I are
looking at what further measures we can take. But this is a big situation. Our
efforts will be large, but there are some things that are both national and
international and that will require concerted effort at both the state and
national, and potentially the international, level, to deal with.
