I refer to the answer provided to a Question Without Notice asked in the Legislative Council on 27 May 2025, in which the Council was advised that 2,080 incidents of physical assault against teachers or school staff were submitted to the Department of Education’s Online Incident Notifications System (OINS) in 2024, and I ask: (a) What is the breakdown of these 2024 incidents by Education Region; (b) How many incidents of physical assault against teachers or school staff were submitted to OINS for the school years: (i) 2023; (ii) 2022; (iii) 2021; and (iv) 2020; and (c) What is the breakdown of the incidents listed in the answer to (b) by Education Region, by year?

(a)
The Online Incident Notification System (OINS) was established as a notification system, not a public reporting system. The Member has requested a significant amount of data. The information requested is not readily available and collecting it would divert staff away from their normal duties, and it is not considered to be a reasonable or appropriate use of government resources.
(b)
2023: 2,307
2022: 1,881
2021: 2,164
2020: 1,851
(c)
Refer to (a).
