I refer the Premier to the statement in this place yesterday by the Minister for Tourism advising that older people who visit Rottnest Island today will pay only $20 for their return boat trip from Fremantle. (1) What advertising was undertaken to tell Western Australian seniors that this offer was available? I have not heard of any. (2) Who is actually subsidising the discounted return trip - the Rottnest Island Authority or the taxpayers of Western Australia? (3) Will the Government repeat this offer and give a few weeks notice of it, so that country people - like those in my electorate - who need to travel to Perth the day before their trip to Rottnest can plan their time so as to take advantage of the offer? Dr G.I. GALLOP

(1)-(3) I am not in a position to answer that question. I will need to obtain information for the member. If he wants to put the question on notice I will be happy to obtain information. Mr M.W. Trenorden interjected. Dr G.I. GALLOP: One thing I am very pleased to know about country shows is that the Royal Agricultural Society, as a result of the very good Royal Show this year, will offer support for country shows throughout Western Australia. That is a great gesture from a great organisation that has served the State of Western Australia for more than 100 years. The Government supports the Royal Agricultural Society in its work, and I am pleased to say that the society is now supporting country shows throughout Western Australia. I am afraid I cannot answer the question of the member for Vasse. The details he requires are not at my fingertips. However, if he wishes to leave me the question I will make sure that I get the answer for him.
