(1) When does the minister expect to announce suggested changes to the rock lobster fishery package following a meeting of the Rock Lobster Industry Advisory Committee tomorrow? (2) Can the minister outline what those changes may be? Hon JON FORD

I thank the member for the question. (1)-(2) Although I do not know what the outcome of the meeting tomorrow will be, some suggestions have been put to me that perhaps they might talk about some rules regarding moon closures. For instance, rather than have the pots lifted during the length of the moon closure, perhaps they could bait the traps on the last day of the moon closure and then lift them on the next day. Originally I was going to make a ministerial statement during the week that I lost my voice. I gave a copy to the Leader of the Opposition. However, I have decided to leave that until our next session of Parliament when I hope that my ministerial statement will include all the proposed changes. Hon Bruce Donaldson : That is next year. Hon JON FORD : No; at the next sitting. I will wait with anticipation to see what other suggestions come from that meeting.
