(2) In which years were the current seven longest serving indefinite term prisoners sentenced?
(3) What are the names of the current seven longest serving indefinite term prisoners?
(4) In respect of each of the current seven longest-serving indefinite term prisoners -
(a) how long has each served;
(b) how many are Aboriginal;
(c) what is the original offence for which he or she was sentenced;
(d) what was the original fixed or nominal sentence (to which the indefinite term has been added);
(e) has the prisoner been offered a pre-release program;
(f) did the Parole Board or the Prisoners Review Board ever recommend to the Attorney General a pre-release program for the prisoner, and if so, was it approved or declined by the Attorney General; and
(g) did the prisoner decline to enter an offered cognitive skills and/or sexual rehabilitation program and if so, were any reasons advanced by or on behalf of the prisoner for the prisoner refusing?

(1) As at 28 February 2009, 19 persons.
(2) From the 19 persons identified in (1), the seven longest serving indefinite term prisoners were imposed during 1985, 1987, 1988, 1993 and 1996.
(3) The Department of Corrective Services' policy is not to release details that identify prisoners or their families.
(4) In respect of each of the current seven longest-serving indefinite term prisoners -
(a) as at 28/2/09, the respective prisoners served, including breach of parole
days:
1 - 8523 days
2 - 8035 days
3 - 7328 days
4 - 6912 days
5 - 6831 days
6 - 6554 days
7 - 6460 days
(b) Two.
(c) The most serious offences the respective prisoners were sentenced for include: Rape, Aggravated Sexual Assault, Aggravated Indecent Assault, Sexual Penetration of a Child, Indecent Dealing, Indecent Dealing and Attempted Murder.
(d) The original terms were: 12 years, 6 years and 3 months, 3 years, 4 years, 3 years, 3years, and 21 years.
(e) Three have been assessed as suitable to participate in a pre-release or resocialisation program.
(f) 5 prisoners have had a pre-release program not recommended. 2 prisoners were recommended but are in custody as there is no suitable support in the community.
(g) One has declined to participate in a treatment program, namely the Intensive Sex Offender Treatment Program. The reason being that he/she denied their offending behaviour.
