FIONA STANLEY HOSPITAL — BUILDING MOULD
810. Hon MARTIN PRITCHARD to the minister
representing the Minister for Health:
I refer to the mould on the floors
at Fiona Stanley Hospital, which required the magnetic resonance imaging suite
to be closed during OctoberQQQ ### QQQNovember last year to completely replace the affected flooring.
(1) Can the
minister confirm that the mould has now been found in the cancer ward and is
now also beginning to encroach into the emergency department?
(2) If no to (1), where else in the
hospital has mould been detected?

I thank the member for some notice
of this question.
(1)–(2) I
am advised that mould has previously been found in two ensuite bathrooms due to a building defect. An issue was previously identified with handbasin drains in patient rooms at Fiona Stanley
Hospital. Fiona Stanley Hospital has reviewed the issue and implemented an
enhanced cleaning regime, and continues to monitor it regularly.
