(1) All of the streets serviced by Route 240 are in Zone 4. The Transperth Tickets and Fares Guide is a large scale graphical representation of the fare zone boundaries. The Fares Guide has a note to this effect. The actual zone boundaries for each bus route are shown in detail on the individual timetable route maps although even on timetable maps the exact location of a fare boundary can be difficult to reflect. To this end bus drivers are provided with a manual detailing the exact zonal arrangements for each route. An extract of this manual showing Route 240 details is attached. Full details on zone locations can be obtained from Transperth's customer information line on 136213. Transperth will also ensure that on the next reprint of timetables for this area that the zone boundary is more clearly reflected. (2) The Kelmscott Train Station is the fare zone boundary between zone 3 and 4. All Kelmscott feeder bus services operate from the station and therefore are in zone 4. Transperth has included all of the feeder bus routes in zone 4 to avoid passengers travelling relatively short distances on the feeder routes between their home and Kelmscott having to pay for travel in 2 zones. Transperth believes that the current system provides the greatest equity for the community. (3) The new Armadale 7 timetable route map for routes 240 and 241 dated 10 September 2000, shows both routes totally in zone 4. This will overcome any previous confusion. (4) See (1).
