I refer to crisis accommodation in the South West, and I ask: (a) how many people in the South West accessed crisis accommodation provided or funded by the Department for Child Protection and Family Support (DCPaFS) in each of 2011-12, 2012-13, 2013-14 and 2014 to date; (b) how many people in the South West sought crisis accommodation provided or funded by the DCPaFS by were turned away due to a lack of availability in each of 2011-12, 2012-13, 2013-14 and 2014 to date; (c) how many new crisis accommodation beds were provided in the South West in each of 2011-12, 2012-13, 2013-14 and 2014 to date; and (d) where were these beds provided?

(a) The number of individuals accommodated in 2011-12 and 2012-13 by Specialist Homelessness Services is not published by the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare at an agency level.
Specialist Homelessness Services funded by the Department for Child Protection and Family Support (the Department) in the South West reported in:
• 2011-12, 419 episodes of support in which people were provided with accommodation;
• 2012-13, 486 episodes of support in which people were provided with accommodation;
• data is not available for the:
o 2013-14 reporting period; and
o July 2014 to date.
The Department provided financial assistance for accommodation:
• 2011-12, 13 people.
• 2012-13, 15 people.
• 2013-14, 12 people.
• 2014 to date, zero people.
(b) Specialist Homelessness Services funded by the Department in the South West reported in:
• 2011-12, 166 instances of requests for accommodation where there was no accommodation available at the time of request;
• 2012-13, 148 instances of requests for accommodation where there was no accommodation available at the time of the request; and
• data is not available for the:
o 2013-14 reporting period; and
o July 2014 to date.
(c-d) New crisis accommodation beds opened in the South West:
• 2011-12, no new beds.
• 2012-13, no new beds.
• 2013-14, the Busselton Women's Refuge (now known as Geographe House) opened in February 2014 providing crisis accommodation for six women experiencing domestic violence and their accompanying children.
• 2014 to date, no new beds.
