(1) The Fleet Steering Committee very recently decided that over the next 12 months State Fleet will transition to purchasing only passenger vehicles with a minimum 5?star ANCAP rating. From 1 October 2011 it will be mandatory for agencies to purchase a minimum 5-star ANCAP rated passenger vehicle unless approved by State Fleet.
State Fleet will review the appropriateness of moving light commercial vehicles to a minimum 4-star ANCAP rating (where available) in the next 12 months.
(2) - (4) This information is not readily available. Given the nature of the ANCAP assessment program (i.e. not all past models and/or model derivatives have been tested) not all vehicle models in the current government fleet have an ANCAP rating. However, the majority of passenger vehicles currently being purchased by State Fleet are 5-star ANCAP rated.
