I refer the Minister to the compliance programme of the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety, and I ask, according to month and for the period August 2022 to August 2023: (a) how many reports of an incident or of non-compliance were received by the department in relation to: (i) minerals; and (ii) petroleum; (b) of the reports of an incident, how many were, and were not, received within the required reporting period of: (i) 24 hours within detection in relation to minerals; and (ii) 2 hours within detection in relation to petroleum; (c) in relation to minerals, how many recordable incident reports were received which: (i) stated that a recordable incident took place; and (ii) stated that no recordable incidents took place; and (d) in relation to minerals, how many reports of an incident or of non-compliance were investigated and found to be in breach of tenement conditions?

The following answers are provided regarding the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety’s environmental compliance program under the Mining Act 1978, Petroleum and Geothermal Energy Resources Act 1967, Petroleum Pipelines Act 1969 and Petroleum (Submerged Lands) Act 1982 .
(a) (i) Reports of 88 minerals related incidents were received. The number of reports received each month is tabulated below:
