A WA parliamentary question seeks data on the number of full-time medical and nursing staff in the Health Department, specifically differentiating between those in 'hands on' roles and administration. (b-c) The current HR System records the time worked by the clinician (medical and nursing) not the type of duties performed such as 'hands on' medicine, administration, etc. hence it is not possible to provide the information requested at (b-c) and (e-f).
All clinical staff undertake clinical and administrative duties, and a range of other non 'hands on' duties including management, research, training and development. Clinicians may also undertake project and leadership roles across the Department of Health so that their expertise forms part of system reforms.
