(2) The South of Perth Yacht Club Redevelopment Proposal, that included this work, was advertised for public comment in the West Australian (27 and 30 January 1996), the Community Southern Gazette (30 January 1996), and the Canning Melville Times (30 January 1996). (3) An assessment of the potential environmental impact accompanied the South of Perth Yacht Club Redevelopment - Stage 2 application. (4) The applications were not assessed by the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA). The Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) advised the Swan River Trust that it believed the South of Perth Yacht Club Redevelopment Proposal would be adequately dealt with under Part 5 of the Swan River Trust Act 1988 . (5) No conditions were attached to the development approval. (6) The Swan River Trust recommended approval of the South of Perth Yacht Club Redevelopment - Stage 2 application and inclusion of a condition that the applicant ensure that the work did not cause pollution or other adverse impacts on the river environment.
