FIONA STANLEY HOSPITAL — PRE-OPERATING
CONTRACT NEGOTIATIONS
845. Mr R.H. COOK to the
Minister for Health:
I refer to an answer provided by the minister on 21 August
that the negotiations between the government and the private operators of Fiona
Stanley Hospital, Serco, on pre-operating contract costs for the hospital would
be concluded ''in about two months''.
(1) Given that
more than two months have now passed, has the government now agreed to the
mitigated pre-operational costs of the Fiona Stanley Hospital; and if so, what
are they?
(2) Can the
government confirm that these costs will start from the expected handover date?
(3) What is
the monthly cost for the pre-operational period?

(1)–(3)
I cannot give an answer to that question. The government has reached a
position, offers have been made and discussions are being undertaken as we
speak.
Mr M. McGowan : This is the Parliament;
you can answer the Parliament on these things.
Dr K.D. HAMES : Listen again: discussions
are being undertaken as we speak.
