(4) The new three-way booster vaccine, Boostrix, is the only available whooping cough vaccine licensed for persons over eight years of age. Although the degree and duration of protection against whooping cough from Boostrix is uncertain due to its newness, evidence from clinical trials indicates that it will provide more than 85 per cent protection against whooping cough for five to 10 years after vaccination.
