200. Hon JIM CHOWN to the minister representing the Minister
for Transport:
I refer to the ''Western Australian
Government Pandemic Plan''.
(1) Does the
Public Transport Authority have a plan for the cleaning and sterilisation of
public transport, taxis and on-demand transport?
(2) If yes to (1), will the minister
table that plan?
(3) If no to (1),
when will the Public Transport Authority have a comprehensive plan regarding
cleaning and sterilisation of public transport?
(4) Has the PTA been provided with any additional
resources to undertake additional cleaning and sterilisation of public
transport?
(5) If yes to (4), what additional
resources have been provided?

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(1) Yes.
(2) The Public Transport
Authority is continuing to follow the advice of the relevant health authorities
and has commenced an increased cleaning regime across the Transperth and
Transwa fleet as a precaution against the spread of coronavirus. This includes
having all touch points wiped down with disinfectant. The Department of
Transport has also prepared advice to be sent to all authorised on-demand
booking services in WA and their responsible officers.
(3) Not applicable.
(4) The Public
Transport Authority is providing additional cleaning and sterilisation within
its existing budget.
(5) Not applicable.
