I thank the member for some notice of this question. (1) Yes. (2) (a) Although the early childhood education directorate will not exist, there will be early childhood expertise in the central office structure. Materials have already been developed and sent out to schools to support the implementation of the expanded early childhood education program in kindergarten and preprimary. (b) Specialist early childhood education professional advice for the early childhood education phase of schooling will be available to teaching staff and parents through personnel in the curriculum team. Early childhood education staff are located in most district education offices. There will be a full-time officer with early childhood expertise to work with community kindergartens and to develop resources on operational matters to support the management committees of community kindergartens.
