PREMIER — CONFIDENCE IN DIRECTOR GENERAL OF THE DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENT AND CONSERVATION
I ask a supplementary question. Why has the Premier refused to declare his confidence in, and support for, the Director General of the Department of Environment and Conservation? This is a third occasion on which a government minister has been asked to declare confidence in that person, and the third occasion on which that confidence and support has been refused. Mr C.J. BARNETT

I was asked that question by the media outside, and I made it very clear that I do have confidence in Kieran McNamara as head of the Department of Environment and Conservation. I said that, and the minister responsible said that, on the steps of Parliament House a couple of hours ago.
