On behalf of the Minister for
Finance, I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question.
(1) As at 16 November
2016, the current rental costs for the Housing Authority are: for 169 Hay
Street, East Perth, $382.95 per square metre; for 16 St Georges Terrace, Perth,
$539.93 per square metre; and for 6–8 Bennett Street, Perth, $440 per
square metre.
(2) As at 16 November
2016, the rental costs for the Department of Corrective Services at Westralia Square,
141 St Georges Terrace, Perth, is $560.08 per square metre.
(3) As at 16 November
2016, the rental cost for the Department of Transport at Marine House, 1 Essex Street,
Fremantle is $304.66 per square metre.
(4) Yes, these
services will be provided as part of the new lease agreement. The Fremantle
rate also has a one-off lease incentive of $1 950 per square metre, which
results in a net effective rental rate of around $325 per square metre. In
addition, there are significant savings in the amount of net lettable area
required in Fremantle compared with the existing accommodation, and much lower
car parking costs. The shift to Fremantle also provides for a far more
effective fit-out, which will result in a significantly reduced net lettable
area when compared with existing accommodation.
Finance, I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question.
