Housing Australia future fund—Investment
partnership
1218. Hon Phil Twiss to
the parliamentary secretary representing the
Minister for Housing and Works:
I refer to the minister's
non-answer to my question without notice of 2 December, question 1173,
concerning the 21 housing developments announced last year under the Housing
Australia Future Fund, an organisation recently labelled in Senate estimates as
"a dysfunctional hellhole". Given the entirely inadequate answer from
the government on 2 December, I will rephrase the question.
(1) Will the minister provide information on how
many of the 21 housing developments announced in December 2024 have commenced
construction?
(2) When does the government anticipate that
tenants will be able to live in this housing?
(3) If no to (1), does the minister believe it is
reasonable and appropriate not to provide this information to Parliament?
(4) If yes to
(3), will the minister write to both houses of Parliament and the Auditor
General notifying them of this following his obligations under section 82 of
the Financial Management Act 2006 ?
