DOLPHIN DEATHS — SWAN RIVER TRUST REPORT
I refer the minister to her response to question without notice 1141, in which she stated that she would publicly release the report prepared by the Swan River Trust on the dolphin deaths and her subsequent confirmation in this house that she had received the report on 20 November. Will the minister now make a commitment to table the report before the end of this day’s sitting; and, if not, how will she keep her promise to release the report publicly? Hon DONNA FARAGHER

I thank the member for her question. I maintain my commitment that I will release the report publicly. I cannot recall my exact answer to the member’s question and whether I mentioned the Chief Scientist. I certainly mentioned that in my ministerial statement last week. I have examined the report. However, I felt that it was important that the Chief Scientist actually look at the report and provide some advice to me on whether any other further aspects needed to be examined. She is currently looking at it. As soon as I have had a meeting with her, it will be released.
