(2) The selection process for Directors General will be independently undertaken by the Commissioner for Public Sector Standards, in accordance with section 45 of the Public Sector Management Act 1994. The appointment of senior management staff is undertaken by employing authorities and in accordance with Public Sector Standards in Human Resource Management as prescribed by the Commissioner for Public Sector Standards. (3) Yes, the Government is continually pursuing measures to increase women's representation in the Senior Executive Service in line with its policy, Better Opportunities for Women and as part of its general Diversity Improvement Plan which includes objectives that will impact on women in the Senior Executive Service. The Government is also monitoring the profile of agencies' workforces on an ongoing basis to ensure that diversity is not compromised by the changes recommended by the Machinery of Government Taskforce.
