(1) Container trucks which are out of gauge (ie exceed 19.0 metres in length or 42.5 tonnes in Gross Vehicle Mass) are restricted to using approved routes as a condition of their permit. If they are not out of gauge, they may use any road available to motor vehicles. (2) If the container vehicle is out of gauge then the permitted routes will depend on the total mass of the vehicle, the number of vehicles in the combination and the total length of the combination. Permit vehicles are not allowed on Canning Highway east of Stirling Highway. (3) Should any member of the public suspect that an operator is taking a permit vehicle on a road where it is not permitted to operate, then they may : · Advise their local Police Service Officers. · Advise the Road Transport Compliance Unit (phone 08 93615974) · Advise Main Roads Heavy Vehicle Operations (phone 08 94700777, facsimile number 08 94723828 or E-mail [email protected] A vehicle permit may be cancelled if the operator does not comply with the conditions attached to the permit.
