for 2015.

sourced to date to move to secondary?
(2) How many fixed-term secondary teachers not currently
employed have been sourced to date?
(3) How many graduates will need to be sourced?
(4) How many
additional teachers has it been projected will need to be recruited from
overseas and interstate?

I thank the honourable member for some notice of the
question.
(1) Five
hundred and seventy-four primary school teachers have applied to the Switch
program and 261 have been selected to commence or have commenced to date.
(2) The
Department of Education does not collect data on the number of trained
secondary teachers who wish to work in Western Australian public schools but
are not currently employed. However, currently 1 730 qualified secondary
teachers have expressed an interest and applied to the graduate or fixed-term
teacher pool and are not currently employed.
(3) Two hundred and sixty.
(4) Nil
currently; however, interstate and overseas recruitment options are part of a
general strategy to increase supply and choice.
