SYNERGY — RENEWABLE ENERGY
1098. Hon ROBIN CHAPPLE to the Leader of the
House representing the Minister for Energy:
In the context of the recent announcement that Synergy will be offering
battery storage systems to the general public, I refer to the requirement to
fill out a renewable energy systems application form online when installing
solar photovoltaic cells on homes or businesses.
(1) What measures are there in place to
ensure that Synergy does not have an unfair advantage in the battery storage or
solar market?
(2) What will be the cost to Synergy of building this division?
(3) Is the Synergy website operating in an anti-competitive manner?
(4) If no to (3), please justify
advertisements offering battery storage systems upon completion of the
renewable energy systems application form on Synergy's website, given
that completion of this form is a requirement for every solar customer in the
south west interconnected system.
