I refer to the former Geraldton Sobering Up Centre located on Larkin Street, Geraldton, and I ask: (a) who has control and responsibility for the site; (b) what is the most recent valuation of the site including buildings; (c) what is the State Government’s plan with respect to the site; (d) is the site being considered a potential site for the mental health step-up step-down facility; (e) is the State Government exploring options to reinstate a Sobering Up Centre in Geraldton; and (f) has any other person or organisation approached the State Government with an interest in the site?

I am advised that:
(a) The Mental Health Commission (MHC) has responsibility for the site.
(b) A valuation provided to the MHC by Landgate on 1 July 2017, valued the total site at $1,050,000, of which the land is valued at $360,000 and buildings valued at $690,000.
(c) The Minister for Mental Health announced on 18 December 2018 that the State Government will repurpose this site to establish the Geraldton community mental health step up/step down service.
(d) Yes, refer to (c).
