Hon Barry House asks about the effect of casino tax rate changes on state revenue and whether these changes are conditional on Burswood Resort Casino providing a facility for the Hopman Cup. Hon Nick Griffiths responds, stating the changes will increase revenue and are not conditional on Hopman Cup facilities, as the Burswood Dome agreement remains.

I refer to the minister’s statement made earlier today concerning the Burswood Resort Casino. (1) What effect will the changes to casino tax rates have on the State’s revenue? (2) Are these changes conditional upon Burswood Resort Casino providing a facility suitable to host the Hopman Cup in the future? Hon NICK GRIFFITHS

(1)-(2) I am pleased that the honourable member has shown an interest in a very important development for the State which, as I have said to others, has been good for jobs, development and the revenue of the State.  A conservative estimate for the current forward estimates period is $13 million, and the revenue will continue to grow after that to $30 million - Hon Barry House:  Extra? Hon NICK GRIFFITHS:  Yes, extra. The current agreement provides for the Burswood Dome to remain in place.  It is not proposed to amend that part of the current agreement.
