In relation to Barrabup Pool, on St Johns Brook near Nannup, an important cultural site for Noongar people and a major recreational site for local residents and visitors -

(2) Not applicable. (3) Green water discolouration could be caused by the reflection of algae from within the water body. (4) The exact cause of the discolouration is unknown, however, it is expected that it is primarily related to the lack of water through flow in the Pool at the time of initial sampling. Anecdotally there had been a shower of rain in the area and a visual assessment suggested that the discolouration might have been a result of localised road run-off. The DoW will continue to monitor the situation and resample the pool.
