Hon Donna Faragher questions the Minister for Mental Health regarding reduced funding allocations for three perinatal mental health pilot services in the 2022-23 financial year compared to 2021-22. The Minister explains the reduction was due to additional non-recurrent funding in 2021-22 and a review finding some services could maintain service levels with existing funding or had low demand.

MENTAL HEALTH — PERINATAL PILOT PROGRAM
768. Hon DONNA FARAGHER to the Leader of the House representing the
Minister for Mental Health:
I refer to the response to question
without notice 682 asked on 17 August 2022 regarding perinatal mental health
pilot services and the breakdown of funding allocations for each program. Can
the minister advise why three of the five perinatal mental health pilot services
have had their funding allocations reduced in the 2022–23 financial
year in comparison to what they received in the 2021–22 financial year?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
Perinatal
mental health pilot services received additional non-recurrent grant funding in
2021–22. A review of these pilot programs found that for 2022–23,
one provider offered a similar level of service with the additional funding
allocated in the grant and two providers had low demand for pilot services that
could continue to be met with the additional funding allocated in the grant.
