The Minister for Energy has provided the following reply - (1) The minister has encouraged Western Power to continue to embrace the principles embedded in State Supply Commission policy. Western Power has recently reviewed and enhanced its procurement policy to ensure alignment with State Supply Commission policy. This followed a request in writing on 26 July 2001 that Western Power review its adherence to State Supply Commission’s supply policies. (2) Western Power’s procurement policy is aligned with State Supply Commission policy when appropriate for a corporatised business. (3) Western Power’s internal audit group performs regular comprehensive reviews to ensure compliance with Western Power’s procurement policy.
